Solhycool at the 1st EU-SOLARIS Summer School
The 1st EU-SOLARIS Summer School, held within the SOLARIZE project and focused on sustainable water management in CST, featured a presentation by Patricia Palenzuela (CIEMAT–PSA) on innovative cooling strategies for CSP plants.
She explained the different types of existing cooling, their advantages and disadvantages and shared the PSA experience acquired in the evaluation of innovative combined cooling systems under the framework of Solhycool project. She showed the main experimental results from two systems tested at the PSA, showing their strong potential to reduce both electricity and water consumption. A data-driven optimization tool was also presented, which enables real-time adaptation to ambient conditions and further cost reductions.
